Watch a wedding at St John's
The marriage of Jacob and Laura December 2011
Click on the candles left to watch a wedding which took place at St John's in December 2011. The wedding was celebrated according to the traditional rites of the Book of Common Prayer (used at the Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton), and also feautured St John's choir. The music included two hymns ('Now thank we all our God' and 'Jerusalem'), choral anthem during the signing, and a sung blessing. The Bible reading and homily were taken from Ruth ch. 1 in the Old Testament. The video is about 45mins in length and may be downloaded. Provided courtesy of the couple and Live EVent Streaming.
NOTE This wedding was celebrated according to the most traditional form of service available, the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Most weddings at St John's follow a contemporary order of service. Our clergy are always willing to be flexible according to the circumstances and the needs of the couple concerned.
